Finding Balance with a Pilates Class
Finding balance with a pilates class is easier
than you may think. Pilates exercises have been designed to help
strengthen your body’s core muscles. Your core muscles are
those found deep within your body that are attached to your pelvis,
shoulders and spine. They help support and stabilize those muscles
that allow you to make big movements easily. Without a strong core
your body is more likely to have poor posture and to get injured
while engaged in vigorous activity.
By building up the muscles of your core one of
the first side effects is improved balance. As your core muscles
are strengthened you will automatically find that you are better
able to stand, walk, run and jump. Small movements that may have
bothered you in the past will become easier and you will find that
your entire way of moving will be subtlety altered for the best.
Taking a pilates class is one
of the best ways to improve your balance. As you progress with your
exercises you will slowly notice an improvement in everything from
the way your body holds itself to the ease with which you can do
small things like going up and down stairs. The improvements may
be small and barely noticeable at first, but if you are persistent
you will see dramatic changes over the course of a few months.
